RAISING FINANCIAL SUPPORT WITH GLOBAL FRONTIER MISSIONS

So, missionaries don’t get paid? I’m ready to leave my life as I know it—my dear family, friends, and everything familiar—to move to the other side of the world to share the message of Jesus, the greatest treasure this world has ever known. And on top of that, I need to raise my own financial support?
About 80% of missionaries on the field rely on support-raising to cover their living expenses, allowing them to focus on full-time ministry. As daunting as this may seem, both I personally and all our missionaries at GFM have witnessed God’s incredible provision and answered prayers time and again. We couldn’t imagine doing it any other way.

While this lifestyle may be less common in North America, where independence is highly valued, it’s essential for many Christian ministries and mission agencies. For those committed to God’s calling, raising support becomes a part of the journey, not a hurdle. It’s a matter of obedience, and once you embrace it, support-raising is simply a step in fulfilling God’s call.

The Bible encourages believers to support those in ministry. A fruitful and Biblical approach to expanding God’s Kingdom involves the body of Christ working together in faithfulness and obedience.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and
rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys
and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21

Is living off of support Biblical?

God's Word shows repeatedly that it is. Jesus Christ and the apostles lived off of support:

"Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance." Luke 8:1-3

“You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.”
1 Corinthians 9:9

"Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel."
1 Corinthians 9:14

The apostle Paul who was the most fruitful missionary besides Jesus was a tentmaker only in Corinth, Ephesus, and Thessalonica, so that he would not become a stumbling block to those he was witnessing to. For the duration of his ministry he was fully supported so that he could pursue full-time ministry:

"I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to return to you from Macedonia, and then to have you help me on my way to Judea."
2 Corinthians 1:16

"For even in Thessalonica, both once and twice, you sent for my needs. Not that I seek after the gift, but I seek after the fruit abounding to your account."
Philippians 4:16-17

"I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain, and to be helped on my journey there by you, once I have enjoyed your company for a while."
Romans 15:12

The Levites were fully supported by Israel: "Behold, I have given to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work they do, the service of the Tent of Meeting."
Numbers 18:21

"But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm His covenant that He swore to your fathers even to this day."
Deuteronomy 8:18
Thailand is less than 1% Christian. Let's do something about that!
"I'm excited to partner with others in making His name known among the least-reached people groups! Just as I’ve raised my hand like Isaiah, saying, 'Here I am. Send me!' (Isaiah 6:8), I recognize that I cannot go alone. Your fervent prayers and financial support are essential to my ministry.

If the Lord has moved your heart, please consider partnering with this ministry to bring the Gospel to Buddhists in Thailand and to raise up more long-term laborers for His harvest. Your support as a monthly financial partner and prayer warrior is deeply appreciated. I am humbled and incredibly grateful that God has called me to play a small part of His merciful plan for global redemption!

"Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

I have no tax obligations for gifts given directly to me. All GFM missionaries are supported through gifts from churches and individuals who believe in their ministry. Missionaries with GFM have been deputized to raise support on the organization’s behalf. Global Frontier Missions is a Section 501(c)(3) organization.Â
